On Tuesday, September 11, 12 candidates competed for the title ‘Lebanon World Supermodel 2012′ and 18-year-old interior design student, Christelle Hindi, was the ultimate winner of the pageant; Jessica Kesserwany came second, and Nay Riachi third.
Singer Haifa Wehbe was the main performer of the show, and the panel of jury was formed from MP Samer Saade, Roger Edde (Businessman), Regina Fenianos (President of The Debutante Ball Dancers Institute), Jean-Claude Bejjani (Photographer), Rita Lamah (Fashion Sylist), Tara Sillery (Fashion Consultant), Grace Boutros Kassis (Catwalk Supervisor), Toufic Tabbal (Director of Photography), Emile Slailaty (Director), Cynthia Fadlallah (Fashion Designer), Sevag Demerjian (Lebanese Champion in Swimming & Water Polo), May Kassis (Make-up Artist), Rami Salamoun (Fashion Designer), Simon Mendelek (Hair Stylist), Elie Fleyhan (Choreographer), and Danielle Salamouny (Model & Lebanon/World Supermodel 2011).
“Be patient, good things come to those who wait, and keep a smile on your face regardless of how you feel because it makes your day easier, and it gives a good atmosphere to those around you…” Those were the words of advice of last year’s title holder Danielle Salamouny, who looked emotional and sad, to the newly elected supermodel.
The contest organized by MTV, was entertaining and somewhat well-organized, but there were some obvious mistakes here and there such as the presence of irrelevant people in the jury, e.g. Businessman? MP? Hairstylist? Director? Who needs those people’s opinion in this particular contest?? I think MTV forgot to add a Manicurist, a Driver, and a Doorman to the list *sarcasm*…
The only people whose presence was really necessary would be professional international and local Modeling Agents to pick the girl with the right measurements, who’s more likely to be in demand for fashion shows.
