Jessica Kahawaty: Second Runner-up to Miss World 2012!!

Miss China, Yu Wenxia, won Miss World 2012, Sophie Elizabeth Moulds of Wales came in the second place (first runner-up), while the Lebanese-Australian beauty Jessica Kahawaty representing Australia, placed third (second runner-up).

It is worth mentioning that Jessica was an entrant in Miss Lebanon 2010, however, the crown was awarded to Rahaf Abdallah, who unfortunately proved to be the wrong winner, and failed to place in both, Miss Universe, and Miss World 2010. This would be a hard lesson to learn for the Miss Lebanon organization, and the sponsor of the contest, LBC.

Congratulations to Jessica on this big achievement; you made Australia, and Lebanon proud!!!

  1. Return to hand-picking the best girl rather than making a ‘pageant’ where mostly un-worthy judges, un-professional and immature TV hosts, and a lousy TV channel (LBC) take part in the event.

I remember 2005, when Anabella Hilal was cut short from being the winner just because those worst-excuse of a judging panel and a rediculously biased bunch of TV voters decided to elect Gabrielle Bou Rached who didn’t do well at all at Miss Lebanon’s final night and previous preliminary telecasts of the same pageant. Later, she went to Miss Universe and failed to enter the top 15; hey, I know that MUO keep treating the Lebanese candidates unfairly for political reasons, but still Anabella would have done much better than Gabrielle.

Shall I add more names? Norma Naoum instead of Nicole-Rita Ghazal in 1999 where Nicole then took part at Miss World as Miss Australia and entered the top 10; Marie-Jose Hnein instead of Leen Sleiman or Rita Lamah in 2003 where it turned out that Leen should’ve been the real winner if the votes and the judges’ scores where tallied MATHEMATICALLY (although Hnein did rank 9th overall at Miss World, but it was all due to popular votes instead of judges’ scoring since she still failed to place anywhere in the top 15 at Miss Universe); Nisrine Nasr instead of Joyce Jammal, Carole Kfoury or Roubine Atachian in 1996; Nadine Njeim instead of Lamitta Frangieh or Sandra Sayegh in 2004 (where Lamitta still did better at Miss World in the beach beauty segment than Nadine did previosuly, and where Sandra looked and performed better than Nadine during the final night of Miss Lebanon); Sandra Rizk instead of Natalie Maamary, Lara Haddad or Maya Mroué in 2000… and what scares me is that I am pretty sure that the list will keep going on and on in the near future!

    • I liked your comment, but there is some inaccuracy in it.
      - In Miss Lebanon 1999, there was also Diana Kfoury who had the international standards of Miss Universe. She should have been Miss Universe Lebanon while Nicole Ghazal should have been Miss World Lebanon.
      - In Miss Lebanon 2000, the most beautiful contestant was the stunning Joanna Constantine who, unfortunately, was given meanly low scores from the beginning and excluded illogically from the top 5 (because she was the major threat to Sandra Rizk), knowing that she could have easily entered the top 5 at Miss Universe.
      - There was no popular votes in Miss World 2003, so Marie-José Hnein placed in the top 20 due to the judges’ scores. They liked her because she has Asian features (and the competition was held in China), besides, the level of the Miss World delegates was not good that year, so it was very easy to notice her and give her a placement.
      - Although Sandra El Sayegh improved her performance in the last prime of Miss Lebanon 2004, she did not really perform better than Nadine, she did not really give better answers than her and she wasn’t fully self-confident (as a matter of fact she answered in a tremulous voice), whereas Nadine was consistently very confident and more coherent in her answers. However, the judges scored Sandra higher on the questions’ segments because they appreciated her improvement and also because they liked her wise personality in real TV more than Nadine’s.
By the way, Sandra participated in Miss Tourism Queen International 2005 but did not place.
      - Lamitta Frangieh did not do better than Nadine N. Njeim in Miss World Beach Beauty, since Nadine also had placed in the top 20 of Beach Beauty in Miss World 2004, therefore both of them had the same achievement at Miss World. Even Nadine Wilson Njeim (Miss Lebanon 2007) placed in the top 20 of Beach Beauty at Miss World 2007.
      - Gabrielle Bou Rached was not really the most voted by the public in Miss Lebanon 2005, the proof is that they didn’t show the results of the votes at the end. I think the most voted candidate was either Anabella Hilal or Reem Moukarzel. But the public votes were not taken into consideration at all. In fact, they seized the opportunity that Gabrielle was the highest scored on her answer and they ranked the five finalists according to the scores they had received on their answers: Gabrielle was the highest scored on her answer, Anabella was the second highest scored, Nadine Yazbeck was the third… (Public votes were ignored.)
By the way, there was a top 20 (not top 15) in Miss Universe 2006, so Gabrielle failed to enter the top 20 at Miss Universe.

  2. Alright observer, here it goes:
    1) Who is Diana Kfoury? Please remind me with a pic as I don’t remember her.
    2) Joanna Constantine was not more beautiful than Sandra Rizk herself; sorry pal. The girls I mentioned in my earlier post were more deserving that the two, by the way.
    3) Yes, there were popular votes taken during Marie-José’s time; if you didn’t watch this, read it over the internet. It’s everywhere!
    4) Sandra Sayegh was a million times better than Nadine. Nadine was fake and didn’t deserve to win Miss Lebanon. She won because she got about 35% of popular votes, which was the highest amongst all the top 6.
    5) Lamitta entered the TOP 10 and Beach Beauty, and you’re telling me Nadine did better because she was in the TOP 20? Do you know math?
    6) Public votes were not ignored during the time of Gabrielle. It did play a role in making her win over Anabella.
    7) Top 20 or 15 at Miss Universe 2006 was not my point. The point was that Gabrielle didn’t deserve to win Miss Lebanon at all, and she ashamed Lebanon at Miss Universe for appearing too PLASTIC!!!

    • OK, I will not comment on all your points as you are free in your subjective opinion.
      - It seems you confuse Miss World 2003 with Miss World 2004, 2005 and 2006 where there were popular votes. In Miss World 2003, there was only a People’s Choice award where only the most voted delegate advanced into the semi-finals and it was Miss Australia who won it. Miss Lebanon Marie-Jose Hnein entered the semi-finals as one of the judges’ choices.
      - Lamitta placed in the top 19 of Beach Beauty in Miss World 2005, there was no top 10! There was a top 19 and then a top 5 and top 3. So please, where did you get that info from?! It doesn’t exist anywhere on the net! There was no official source saying that Lamitta ranked among the top 10 in Beach Beauty! (And I don’t think her body was good enough to be in a top 10 anyway. I bet she ranked somewhere at the bottom of the top 19.)
In fact, only Rosarita Tawil placed in the top 10 of Beach Beauty in Miss World 2008. :D
      - If public votes were taken into account in Miss Lebanon 2005, then why didn’t they tally them LIVE with the judges’ scores like they did in Miss Lebanon 2004?! And why the 5 finalists were ranked at the end just like how they ranked in interview?! ;)

      • Ok, I discovered that your Lamitta news is true; however, I’m still sure that popular votes led Marie-José to enter the top 20 at Miss World in 2003. Popular votes counted alongside the judge’s votes at Miss World since 2001 when Agbani Darego became Miss World. Only in 2004 the rules have changed where popular votes were the only element to choose the winner. I bet if in 2005 the normal old judging method would choose the top 10, 15, or whatever number it was then Lamitta for sure would have advanced, and the fact you mention that her body is not that great gives me the perception that you only believe that skinny girls are beautiful, which is not. Do you remember Oxana Fedorova’s body back in Miss Universe 2002 or Irene Skliva back in Miss World 1996? Lamitta is skinnier compared to those two by the way. Lastly, 2005 was just a stupid year with the worst Miss Lebanon system ever introduced and it eventually caused a lot of chaotic misjudgement. LBC is always messy with their pageantry systems; go back to the videos of that year and calculate the results for each contestant. How did Abir Layous enter the finals? Her preliminary scores were so high, but look at the judges’ final night scores for that girl… they were low compared to other girls who didn’t enter the finals. Meaning, popular votes changed the entire results. After said all this, I rest my case. Keep replying because I am not going to answer back.
