Three ladies of Arab ancestry had competed in one of the most prestigious beauty pageants this year: Miss Universe Canada 2012.

Sophie Mokbel (صوفي مقبل)  from Lebanon:
24 years old from Beirut, she is fluent in French, English, Arabic and lives with her family in the city of Laval, Quebec Province, where she worked as an accountant. Sophie is a graduate of the University of Quebec, her dream is to become an actress.

Majd Soudi (مجد سعودي) from Jordan:
26 years old, born in Amman, a resident in the Canadian capital of Ottawa. She is active in the field of publications and books for children.

Maria Nohra ( ماريا نهرا)  from Syria:
26 years old from Damascus, emigrated with her family when she was 5 years old. She currently lives in the city of Markham, Ontario.

Majd Soudi went home with the second runner-up title, and Maria Nohra was a top 12 finalist.
